I made my stuffing yesterday, placed it on a sheet pan and will bake it when the turkey is removed from the oven. I used fresh herbs and doubled the amount of celery and onion; never enough of those. I like it crunchier. Simple, but delicious. If I had a double oven, I would make a sausage-bread stuffing, but until I do, this is the classic stuffing!

RE Learning1863: Here is a recipe you can try using French bread. You can also mix butter with some dried herbs (basil and oregano) and serve with pasta. Try making a baked bread pudding out of the French Bread, the rolls or the fancy bread. Check out some of our great bread puddings here. It is also the only stuffing recipe I've used - why change if its not broken? I love the version with apples and raisins. I am traveling this year and was dismayed I did not bring my recipe. So excited to find it online! Thanks Betty Crocker!

This is the ONLY bread stuffing recipe I have used since the early 1970's, and I have handed it out to more people than I can remember. I've never been concerned about the amount of butter it contains and neither has anyone else whose eaten it at my house, and there have been a LOT of people eat this. Anyway, who eats the entire dish at one serving? Just make it once - you will never use another bread stuffing recipe either!
