RE FannyFarmer: I’m sorry to hear that you’re having problems with this recipe. Bisquick is characteristically slightly more salty which is part of processing. Be sure that when you’re measuring ingredients that you’re using the correct measuring utensils for the type of measuring that you are doing. Use metal measuring cups for dry ingredients such as bisquick, flour, cocoa and powdered sugar and for liquids use a glass liquid measuring cup. For dry ingredients spoon into the metal measuring cup and level off with a knife or flat, narrow spatula. Sometimes breaking the bisquick mix up with a fork before adding the other ingredients will eliminate the specks in the baked biscuits. I hope you will try these again with the suggestions and let us know how they turn out.

These were alright. Thought they were pretty salty and dry. You have to mix the Bisquick REALLY well, too, otherwise there are flecks of white mix. I probably won't make again.

I didn't have the choc. chips and I increased the sugar to 3 TBS. Next time I will also increase the melted butter to 3 TBS. I thought they were good

These were very good and easy. It was a nice spin on the traditional shortcake. I didn't have mini chocolate chips, but regular ones seemed to work just fine.
