Family FAVORITE!!! We have been making this yearly for the past 4 years. Our fav ice cream is coffee, which is perfect with the cookie and chocolate not too sweet but very filling. And I cheat too by using pre made cookie dough.

This dessert wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I usually make it with an oreo crust and topped with whip cream. I wanted to try something different instead of a birthday cake. All of us that tried it agreed it was too sweet.

This was REALLY Good . The only complaint was that it was difficult to cut but I didn't use the foil trick so that could be why. Other than that this was a family and Friends fav will make again!!!

So good. Everyone in my family liked it. To save time I bought a roll of the refrigerated cookie dough (family size) and just pressed that into the pan. Worked out great!

one of my family's favorite's. I have the tendency to bake the cookie crust too much, so we have to "break" the crust, but that's very minor. We have tried different flovors of ice cream--they are all good.

Yummy recipe! If you don't want to mess with the sticky dough, use a piece of waxed paper to spread the dough into your pan. A minor amount will stick to the paper, but it's better than greasy hands! I think hbertschy's problem of too sweet and too much chocolate may be because she altered the recipe making the cookie layer much thicker in the 8x8 pan... there's plenty of cookie dough to cover the bigger pan, but it isn't very thick. Kudos to the clever Mommy who thought this one up! :)

The cake turned out great, and got rave reviews. I have two warnings: 1. When they say the cookie dough will be sticky, they certainly mean it and it is difficult to spread out the cookie dough across the pan. Thankfully it does spread out some when it bakes. 2. I used the foil trick, which did make cutting and serving easier, however you do have to be careful you aren't serving anyone foil, because the foil wanted to stick to the bottom of the cookie. Overall worth the effort!
