They're Italian! Baked twice for a crunchy texture, biscotti are meant to be dunked in coffee.

I just made these and yes the dough was kind of dry, but I used my hands to mix and form rectangles, which came out to be about 3 x 9" . Had to bake them the full amount of time. Very tender when hot and have to be turned, but stuck those that broke together and they came out just fine. Loved them and shared recipe with others.

I had to add water to get the dough to the right consistency, but it turned out really well- delicious!

Just mixed up the dough for the biscotti. It won't hold together for me, it's so dry. I'm going to try adding another egg to it as I don't want to add more margarine and make them too greasy. If that doesn't work, I'll just shape them into cookies.

I made these last year for Christmas and we just loved them. Omitted fruit and used walnuts instead of hazelnuts. I don't twice bake mine because we like them soft and an moist.

I included these in my Christmas cookies the past two years, they are a hit wherever I go. They are so yummy! I usually use pecans instead of hazelnuts. I enjoy making biscotti, and this way is a little easier. It's even better tasting than some of the scratch recipes I've tried. I can definitely see this recipe remaining a Christmas tradition of mine for a time to come!
