This dish bursts with the family-pleasing flavors of macaroni, pinto beans and corn in addition to sausage. Everyone will ask, "Seconds, please!"

I couldn't find the Hamburger Helper Chili Macaroni in my grocery store, so I substituted Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Nacho Supreme. And we are trying to cut back on beef and pork, so I used turkey Italian sausage. It was DELICIOUS. I used the same amount of water called for in the recipe, but I think if I make it again, I will conform to the directions on the box for the Cheesy Skillet, instead, as it came out too liquidy.

Had this for lunch today. Outside it was cold and raining and this dish was perfact. Hot, tasty and easy to make. I did only use one cup of water but everything else was according to directions.

My family enjoyed the dish, as has every other reviewers'. I agree with jtess that sugar, 1 Tbls., should be added to cut the acid of tomatoes, and with Sean that the water should be reduced. I'm not certain why sausage was used, and I will use ground beef the next time. (Your recipe description says it contain pinto beans, and the recipe calls for kidney beans. I used kidney.)

I have made this a couple of times now and the family loves it. I do not use the sausage. Instead I use ground beef and more chili powder than it calls for. It really is good with cornbread

This was of the worst dishes I've tried from this web site. This is one reason why I never use Hamburger Helper but the picture and discription looked good so we tried it. There was no flavor to the meal witht he items from the HH box. I've had better luck with other recipes. I we won't be making this one again.

I am a single father and not a great cook by any means, but this recipe is something that is very simple and both of my kids love it. I did find that the amount of water the recipe calls for is too much and should be reduced by about 1/3. Other than that, the recipe is perfect as written. Thanks.
