I love this recipe & all of Michael's recipes. This is an easy, shortcut version of a wholesome, homemade soup. Because I double the recipe (to have enough for a second meal), I cook the pasta separately & add to each serving.

The soup was fairly bland (glad I added Italian flavored tomatoes instead of plain, crushed tomatoes) so I made a note to add Italian seasoning next time around. At the end of the day, it was easy to prepare and my 4-year old daughter could assist with prep (mini-chop) and I made enough to freeze for future meals. I like that this was hearty enough to be a meal.

I loved this recipe! My hubby loves pastina too. I put this entire recipe into the crockpot all at once before I went to work. I let it cook for about 8 hours (till the chicken was tender). I used one cup of frozen chopped collard greens and one cup of chopped spinach greens. (I did not use the olive oil)... this will be a regular menu item at our house! thank you!
