Made them last night. Very easy and quick to make and the taste was wonderful, especially the icing. Only draw back that I see is that it was very crumbly and when cut they fell apart, even baking the full 25 minutes. Everyone loved them!

The easiest substitute for shortening is butter. I won't matter for bar cookies, but you may want to chill the dough for drop cookies to keep them from spreading too much.

I really want to try these! Anyone know how to substitute for the shortening? I know it's not much, but I don't even have shortening in my house!
