This soup was delicious! I added fingerling potatoes & cauliflower to it as well. And I had about 2 cups medium cheddar/2 cups sharp cheddar & that was a great mix for the cheeses. I will be making this more often.

I found it to be a little bitter. I might try mild cheddar next time.

This is one of the best recipies for the fall & winter months here in Colorado! I have to pull out this recipe each time the weather gets chilly and make it for my family. No one ever complains when this dish is served!

This was quick and easy to make! I added a couple of chopped garlic cloves for some additional flavor. Will make this again and again!

This is the ultimate comfort soup and one that I get requests for constantly. My 12 year-old granddaughter loves it. There is never a spoonful leftover when the meal is finished. I have been using the recipe for maybe four years and will continue, regardless of the fat, cholesterol, sodium, etc.

I haven't tried this - the fat, cholesterol and sodium inofrmation alone made me cringe. I thought betty crocker would be a little healthier. This is worse than canned soup.

This soup is the best. I can do with out the popcorn. I like my crackers added to soup. It is easy to make and taste wonderful.

One of the best betty crocker recipes...love this...altered it though... Took out carrots added another stalk of celery...1 1/2 onions...made own broth (chives, garlic, celery salt,water)...took out cayenne pepper and sub'd with 1/8 mustard powder...used 2 lbs. sharp cheddar...and depending on mood may take out beer. Leave out the spoon (until necessary) and dip with soft french or sourdough bread. The soup plus bread is heavy so can fill up at least 4 people to bursting easy...and outside of about a 5 min prep...can have this cooked in just over 10 min...good next day for lunch...

This is a great recipe for a cold day. I did increase the chicken stock as I prefer a more liquid soup. It was also very good the second day. One could eat a whole loaf of french bagette, dipping it in this soup.
