Can't get enough of this pound cake! Sour cream keeps it moist and substituted lemon extract for the almond to better compliment the poppy seed. This recipe is easily cut in half for just one loaf pan. This smells so good baking that you won't be able to wait until it cools to have a piece!

I wanted a simple desert to take to our friends for our every Saturday card game. This poppy seed cake fit the bill. I had it once before and it was very simple to make, and smelled wonderful while it was baking. This time though I made it Lemon Poppy Seed, by adding 1/4 Lemon Juice. I have no been told that that this is the only desert I am allowed to bring for Card playing day. Keep up the good work, with all these wonderful recipies

This is a great recipe - with the almond flavor. Great for company - but the family loves it - so why not them. Easy and quick to make!

This is a great dessert to serve to company. It''s light tasting and moist. The combination of the lemon and poppy seed are great. It takes no time at all to make.
