Caramels
"No doubt about it... I will definitely be doing this again!! They come out soft like the "Sugar Daddy" candy [not for people with braces!] but melt-in-your-mouth tastey like "Werther’s". You have to be patient and cook it on Medium heat; don't turn it up just to hurry it up or you'll end up with a huge burnt mess. When I boiled water in the pot to clean it, I put 2 knives in the water and alternated between them to cut the thick sheet of caramel into squares. They will stick together [but not to your hands] so make sure you either have someone wrapping them or you have a place to set them spread out. You could even cut them from the 8"x8" into strips and roll them into something like "Cow Tails"! I'm now thinking I should have done that, lol."

Dog Bark
"I have raised dogs all my life, starting with those my parents bred & showed extensively in CA and other western states. I have studied canine nutrition extensively both for the show ring and to make homemade food, especially for my Basset who's system won't tolerate commercially dried food and many commonly used ingredients. Most veterinarians do not really understand pet nutrition & several have refered to me for advice. I would not have a problem giving these treats as just that... occasional TREATS. Yes, some dogs are lactose intolerant just as some people are; those dogs treats should not be topped with cheese. I would never give any of my dogs treats containing wheat flour and this recipe is a great way to make treats without any grains at all, which is very helpful to dogs with arthritis and other inflammatory issues."

German Chocolate Picnic Cake
"The name for this cake is completely misleading. This is nothing like a German Chocolate Cake... it's merely a not-very-chocolatey cake with a sweet oat topping."

Bananas Foster French Toast
"Very easy to make and had very good flavor, though we thought it average for french toast and not particularly outstanding thus the 3 spoon rating. It didn't remind me of Bananas Foster though, especially with merely being topped by uncooked bananas. I used honey oat bread and added spices; mixed in the bananas and topped it with the pecans just before baking. If I make it again, I'd add vanilla to the egg mixture. As far as it's comparison to bread pudding, while this recipe [and most other baked french toast recipes] is similar it certainly isn't the same. Bread pudding has lots more liquid compared to bread so that it cooks into a thick creamy mass. These overnight fench toast recipes are definitely more bread and not nearly as creamy as bread pudding."

Glazed Eggnog Spritz
"i don't understand ... what makes them 'eggnog' cookies? there isn't a drop of eggnog and only 1 egg in it."

Lemon- and Parmesan-Crusted Salmon
"i thought it was very good. i didn''t get the full amount of zest from 1 lemon so i think next time i''ll put down lemon slices under the fish. also, the fillet i used was a bit thin so i should have reduced the amount of breading."

Apple-Sausage Oven Pancake
"it took only 15 min to bake and it was a bit dry. if i do again, i''ll add more milk or something and watch the time closer. it tasted good though."

Cheesy Egg and Rice Bake
"try using stock instead of plain water when cooking the rice. i had some frozen corn so added it. i also added a large can of chicken then served this as dinner. it was good but a bit plain."
