Party Invitations

  • Make do-it-yourself invitations by hand or online adding plenty of glitter. Add a charm, sticker, tattoo or, best of all, a guitar pick with the important 'when and where' details before it's mailed. Or create invitations resembling rock concert tickets!
  • Encourage guests to dress like their favorite pop star and bring their CDs.

Party Decorations

  • Purple, lime green and pink are the colors of just one popular color palette you could choose for a rock star party. The birthday girl or boy will no doubt have opinions to share! You’ll find lots of choices for paper goods and decorations online or at party stores.
  • Let the Electric Guitar Cake be the table’s centerpiece as shown.

Party Games & Activities

  • Break open a guitar-shaped piñata, of course!
  • Prepare trivia questions about your favorite rock star and play a trivia game.
  • Stage an air guitar show, using inflatable guitars, if needed, and those guitar picks. Or, have a karaoke singing contest.
  • Create a scrapbook page for the party.

Food Fun & Favors

The Day Before

  • Make Electric Guitar Cake and Tie-Dyed Cupcakes (if served).
  • Place scoops of ice cream in muffin pan lined with paper baking cups; cover and freeze.
  • Make Honey-Roasted Chex® Mix; store in airtight container.

The Morning Of

  • Decorate and set table.
  • Prep some of the fruit and make Fantastic Fruit Dip; arrange on serving dish; refrigerate.

Last-Minute Prep

  • Make Twisted Pizza Dogs (if served); serve.
  • Make Ham Bagels with Honey-Mustard Cream Cheese; serve.
  • Add remaining fruit, such as apples and bananas, to fruit served with Fantastic Fruit Dip.
  • Blend Chocolate Raspberry Shake; serve.
  • Move ice cream from freezer to refrigerator about 15 minutes before serving to make softer and easier for kids to handle.
