January 22, 2013

Satisfy hunger pangs and stick to your diet morning, noon and night—with delicious, guilt-free snacks.

SmoothiePoppers

Morning

Grab ‘n Go Smoothie Poppers: These darling (and delicious) yogurt smoothie poppers are easy to make ahead in batches—and in any shape—perfect for quick morning snacks.

Breakfast Bread: Who doesn’t love a slice of homemade banana bread? Our lower-fat healthified banana nut bread is a Betty fan-favorite with fewer calories, just like our healthified zucchini bread and healthified pumpkin bread.

Healthified Fluffy Orange Fruit Dip: Made with 62 percent less fat than the original recipe, this dip blossoms with flavor thanks to 99 percent fat-free yogurt and orange juice concentrate.

Frozen Grapes: Pop snack-sized bags of washed red or green grapes in the freezer and pull them out for a refreshing snack on the go.

Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip: In blender or food processor, blend a container of Yoplait Greek 100 Vanilla with 1 tablespoon each of peanut butter and honey. Serve with apple slices.

Go-Gurt & Trail Mix: Spoons aren’t necessary when you pair Go-Gurt with a hearty, homemade trail mix like this whole grain snack mix.

Roasted Almonds: Spread a few handfuls of raw almonds on a cookie sheet and pop in a 350-degree oven for 10-12 minutes until golden; sprinkle with kosher salt and let cool; store in an airtight container.

HealthifiedGreekLayeredDip

Afternoon

Layered Dip: Perfect for work potlucks or weekday snacks at home, this healthified Greek layered dip—packed with hummus, Greek yogurt, veggies and served with whole wheat pita—is one of our all-time favorites.

Mixed Berry Yogurt Oat Treats: These scratch-made muffins—packed with fresh fruit, old-fashioned oats and new Yoplait Pro-Force yogurt—are a great alternative to granola bars.

On-the-Go Snacks: Keep some cappuccino LÄRABARs, Fiber One protein bars, Nature Valley soft-baked oatmeal squares and Ocean Spray Strawberry Island Splash fruit snacks on hand so you’re always prepared when hunger comes calling.

Snap Peas & Hummus: Sugar snap peas pair up nicely with this roasted-garlic white bean hummus.

Black Bean & Roasted Corn Salsa: This isn’t your average dip. Green Giant’s new honey roasted sweet corn is a perfect match for salsa and a side of Food Should Taste Good tortilla chips.

Salad on a Stick: Make a portable salad by threading cherry tomatoes, cubes of cheese, olives and cucumber pieces on skewers. Or make a great caprese salad using fresh mozzarella, basil and cherry tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

Chips & Dip: Nothing beats this classic combo. Up the health factor by grabbing a bag of Food Should Taste Good’s salt and pepper sweet potato chips to pair with a cool creamy pesto dip. Or try Green Giant’s new Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips with this healthified ranch dressing.

FrozenYogurtSandwiches

Evening

Fruity Frozen Yogurt Ice Cream Sandwiches: Crunchy granola, indulgent chocolate, and sweet and creamy frozen yogurt come together in this perfect after-dinner treat.

Popcorn: Consider air-popped popcorn the blank canvas of the snack world. Besides the tried-and-true butter-and-salt combo, any one of these new ideas makes a great go-to topping: hot sauce, Parmesan cheese, curry powder, Old El Paso taco seasoning, dry ranch dressing seasoning, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon and sugar. Raisins, sunflower seeds, almonds, candy-coated chocolate pieces, dried cranberries all make for tasty mix-ins.

Greek Yogurt-Banana Split: This better-for-you banana split, made with Yoplait Greek Fat Free yogurt, doubles as the perfect snack and dessert.

A Bowl of Cereal: Whether you’re partial to Rice Chex, original Cheerios or vanilla nut granola, a bowl of cereal and pour of cold milk is a go-to snack you can feel good about.

Kale Chips: Preheat oven to 350°. Rinse a bunch of green kale thoroughly and rinse in a salad spinner. Tear leaves from stalks into bite-sized pieces. Spread leaves on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until kale turns richly green and crispy.

Fruit Pops: Bring back a taste of summer in the dead of winter with these refreshing fruit-, yogurt- and veggie-rich crazy carrot pops.

I love frozen grapes. They're also great if you put some in a small bowl then mix with a couple tablespoons of whipped cream. Let them sit for a few minutes until the whipped cream freezes on the grapes. Sooooo good for a low cal snack!!
