One of our favorite jobs in the Betty Crocker Kitchens is creating recipes and party ideas, but the best part is enjoying the holiday twice–once when we’re creating the ideas (several months in advance) and again when the holiday arrives. With cinco de Mayo just days away, we’re ready for round two of the fiesta!
Party Plan (Tacos Meet Margaritas)
Why are we so excited for cinco de Mayo? Because we’re working with two of our favorite things: tacos and margaritas. Our idea was to create 5 taco and margarita pairings, each inspired by a hot food trend. We took inspiration from trends like Street Food and “Skinny” Indulgences to create pairings like Beef Bulgogi Korean Tacos with a Fizzy Lime SODArita and Skinny Citrus Shrimp Tacos with a Skinny Cucumber Lime SPAgarita.
Behind the Scenes: Recipe Tasting
We spend a lot of time creating, testing and tasting our recipes before we post them. During recipe tastings we present ideas to our team of food experts and then the tasting begins. These tastings can last for hours…it’s what happens when you get more than one food person in a room. Here’s a behind the scenes look at our cinco de Mayo tasting. (And yes, we did try all 5 taco and margarita recipes. It was a delicious meeting.)
