“Last year I made Spiced Pumpkin Pecan Butter Cheesecake Squares and really liked them, but the recipe was time consuming and had a lot of ingredients. (I made the Spiced Pumpkin Pecan Butter myself.) My objective for this contest was to develop a shortcut recipe using fewer ingredients that would still deliver good taste. The chocolate-caramel drizzle was my final touch to bring this dessert over the top.
My neighbors and friends all happily test all of my recipes since my husband of 44 years does not eat desserts. I love pumpkin and I love cheesecake, and the combination of the two is a winner in my book. I’m pleased that this recipe has been selected for the finals. As a retired executive, I finally have time to do what I love – develop and test new recipes. My kitchen has become my new office, and it’s usually where you will find me!”
