i made this for my daughter's 3rd birthday and she LOVED it!! her request was for it to be pink and purple so that is what we did, and it was still awesome. very easy to make.

I would suggest for an older child change this: Separate the legs into 4 parts. Add a bridle. Make the "number blanket" a saddle instead. You could make the icing to match the horse she/he prefers, Chestnut, Palomino, Bay, Pinto, Gray, etc.

I have the same question/comment as @maureen211. My daughter is turning 9 and loves horses. This cake is cute, but definitely looks geared toward a younger girl. Any ideas or suggestions?
