Comments: i made this for my 11 yaer old's birthday and it turned out so nice. I added a little more decor and it was perfect. the only problem is on the 2nd layer, the cake started to lean a bit. i stuck toothpicks in it and even had to put some of the wafers under one side. it was a messy job but was easy. |

Comments: When my daughter saw this cake she really gave me no choice. I love to cook but am not a pastery chef. I was afraid it was one of those things where they make it look much easier than it is. Like others, I used a strawberry frosting, I also added chocolate to trim and pink marshmellows. It was so fun to make and my husband even helped! I am looking forward to the next birthday cake in my house thanks to Betty Crocker! |

Comments: This cake made me the big hero! I'm a working mom so I usually just buy cakes. When my daughter requested a princess castle cake and found out how much it was at the bakery, I decided I had no choice but to make it myself. Thank God I found this recipe! And believe me, I'm a total amateur and the cake looks like a professional made it. I made some modifications: used strawberry frosting instead of mixing color and used strawberry cake mix for pink inside and out. Also, used a wooden skewer through the center to keep the stacked cakes stable. I think I found a new hobby - themed cakes. :) Thank you Betty Crocker!!! |

Comments: OMG! After watching this how-to video I was amazed at how easy it was to make. Whenever I saw cakes like this in speciality bake shop I would cringe at the price, but now I realize I can make it myself much cheaper. I feel so silly now for being intimated by makin fancy cakes at home. This website and how-to videos is awesome. Thanks Betty Crocker

Comments: its a little time consuming but turned out wonderful. i used mini marshmellows instead of the sugar cubes and used cake decor hearts shapes where i thought it needed a little dressing up. my granddaughter loved it and it made her 5th b day a very happy one. |

Comments: OMG! My husband and I made this for our little princess' 1st b-day. It turned out great!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huge hit!!!!!!!! No one could believe we did it. We did double the cake size, froze the cake inbetween icings and froze the cones before placing on the cake. Also we used long sparkler candles for her and sm cake decorating balloons inside the tops of the cones. I found the balloons in a junk drawer and the candles in a dollar store. We also used toothpicks to hold the cakes and cones in place. It was a definate project for us but so worth it. |

Comments: I don't know where I went wrong. Made this for my granddaughter. The frosting kept falling off the cake - The wafers I used for doors and windows split apart (had the cake in refrigerator) and fell off the cake in pieces. I have a total disaster and her party is in 2 hours. |

Comments: My 3 y/o requested this cake for her birthday, it was easier than I thought. I would highly recommend though chilling the cake prior to spreading on the crumb coat and perhaps even chilling it again midway along with the frosting. My was too goopy at room temperature. I also only used 3 8x8 layers opposed to the 4 it suggests as it was just my small immediate family eating this cake and there would be lots of leftovers!
My oldest cannot wait for her cake in October! |

Comments: This is such a breeze to make as long as you follow the directions! Instead of hard candy I used sweet tarts so that they younger children didn't choke! It is an amazing cake and a show stopper! I always used the very long, thin candles instead of tradional and they looked amazing lit! |

Comments: My daughter and I were looking through the videos about 2 months ago and decided at that moment we had to make this pink castle princess cake. So in order for us to have the cake, we had to have a princess party and invite all her friends. We scheduled the party for today because some of the girls are in PreK and Kindergarten and they were out of school today. It was a huge success!!! All of my mother friends loved it too and I told them to check out all the other adorable cakes at this site. I froze the cake layers and made chocolate and vanilla cakes; layering vanilla, chocolate, then vanilla. My only problem was the strawberry wafers separated and fell off during the night so I used extra frosting to adhere them back together. It tasted good too! Thanks for a fantastic video, I loved how the frosting was smooth and looked like Publix's cakes...so pretty! |

Comments: This cake was very easy to make! It was a hit at my daughters party. We used blue sugar on the cones and froze them before we put them on the cake. The pink and blue look great together.

Comments: This was a great idea, My hubby birthday is the 29th of oct and this was a great cake. I made it with Choclate on choclate and carmels instead of sugar cubes. I also made white choclate ghosts to float above cake. these were so cute, the sticks stabled the cake and gave it the haunted look. the door cookies were left 1/2 open and the windows were crocked. Our daughter was so excited, I can't wait for her birthday in Feb. THANK YOU SO MUCH. |

Comments: I made this cake for my son's first birthday party and changed the frosting color to a light blue and used French Vanilla cake mix for adifferent flavor. All of the adults loved it! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The icing wasn't as smooth as I would have liked, but I think it was my technique. The video helped a lot! |

Comments: Adorable Cake!! I modified this design a bit- for my DD's 3rd Princess themed birthday. I used pastel colored multiple colored Mike and Ikes, licorice and misc candies and used white icing. I used strawberry icing inbetween the layers (a HUGE hit with adults). Even though it was less than professional my three year old only knew Mom made her a lovely Princess Castle cake and the adults actually thought I bought it. Some tips- If you ice the cones and roll them in icing then freeze them for a time, they will be easier to handle and the sparkles won't get smudged. Same goes for each new layer of icing.. freeze in between applications and there will be less peeling or crumbing. I used Popsicle sticks to keep the top layer in place (I had three flat layers plus the top)because those cones are not quite level and I made flags from toothpicks and construction paper. For the flag on the cone on the top layer I used a sparkle gel pen and placed my daugther's initial on it, a detail she didn't miss. It was more time consuming than it sounded at first and I was glad to have had a day to myself to make this one without the kids around! Definitely worth a second attempt. |

Comments: I was very intimidated by the look of this cake. But to my surprise it was very simple once you got going. Just make sure you buy an extra thing of frosting. No one at the party believed that I made it! I loved this cake!! |

Comments: This cake was perfect to make a princess theme birthday complete. My daughter and myself made this cake for my granddaughter's birthday. We both thought it might be easier to make the tower in a bread pan and cutting it in half rather than dealing with the small 1/4 pieces of the 8" pan. We had difficulty in balance the cone on top of the tower. We also used strawberry covered Whoppers instead of gumballs. The cake was a hit! |
