Ridiculously Easy Herb Compound Butter

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano leaves
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

    In medium bowl, mix all ingredients.

    Spoon mixture onto piece of cooking parchment paper. Roll to create log shape. Twist ends of paper to seal.

    Refrigerate log until firm, about 3 hours. Slice into "coins" to serve.

  • Recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.
  • You can substitute dried herbs for fresh. Reduce amounts by half.
  • Herb compound butter doesn’t just taste great on bread, smear it on your meat, fish, corn on the cob or anything else that strikes your fancy!
  • Do you have more butter than you can use? Portion it into coins and freeze, so you can pull it out for later use.
