The Betty Crocker Kitchens

At the heart of Betty Crocker is the Betty Crocker Kitchens. It is here where all of our recipes are developed and tested.

I have a "Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow" award pin that I won when I was a senior in High School. I remember taking a written test (supplied by Betty Crocker) in my Senior Home Economics class at Louisville High School, in Louisville, Colorado in 1959. I have had the pin in my jewelry box all these years. The pin is brown and bronze color and has a fireplace, with a fire burning in it, in the heart-shaped pin

I would love to be able to show a video alike this for my Independent Studies presentation on test kitchens. This describes the test kitchen function and why I would like to work in this type of kitchen experimenting with recipes. I am in culinary school now taking the Baking & Pastry Specialist course and will be graduating in March 2012. If there is anyway to obtain a copy or download the video I would appreciate knowing about that. Thanking you in advance for your response.

I would like to see an expanded version of this video about your kitchen facilities, expectations of employees, qualification, tour the company, etc. I teach students that are in a PROSTART program in High School.....Which is an introduction to the Culinary world ..... but other than students going to Culinary School or planning to own their own restaurant.... many do not know of these types of corporate kitchens OR the jobs that may interest them for the future. It would be nice to be able to access this site OR if a DVD was available at a reasonable cost for school programs. I also still use with my Foods 1 beginning students(although well worn) the FILMSTRIPS on Biscuits: Plain and Fancy, Muffin Making, Easy As Pie, etc....because the basic techniques have not changed. I would encourage you to redo and make available these types of programs....either on the site or on DVD. There really are NOT ANY good basic media information out there today. That is WHY I have kept these treasured informative educational tools. But Filmstrip projectors ARE the dinosaurs of today...and I will keep mine as long as I can. Please consider some media support for the basic cooking techniques and tasks. I know many who would appreciate the support materials.
