About Chef King…
Chef King Phojanakong is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in Manhattan. His early culinary influences began at home with the inspirational cooking of his Thai father and Filipino mother. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Chef King has worked in the kitchens of such food luminaries as Jean-Georges Vonrichten and Daniel Boulud. He was recently invited to the White House at the request of First Lady Michelle Obama to participate in the “Chefs Move to Schools” campaign, in which chefs pledge to adopt a school in their community and serve as a healthy food educator, teaching young people about nutrition and making balanced and healthy choices.
