Warm, rich oatmeal squares are filled with cranberries and pomegranate and then topped with whipped cream. Even the kids will be asking for more!
Cranberries and pomegranates have become a popular combination. Not only do they taste great, they offer health benefits, too. These fruits are often used in drinks, salads and sauces, but I wanted something richer. I turned that desire into Cranberry Pomegranate Oatmeal Squares.

A tangy fruit mixture with dark brown sugar and butter is sandwiched between an oatmeal base and a streusel-like topping. Serve it warm topped with homemade whipped cream.

I sent my mom off with a fresh-from-the-oven sample for my niece and nephews. As chief taste testers, their opinions matter to me. When they called to tell me they loved this dessert, I knew I might be on to something. Hopefully you will agree!
