Turn your favorite drink into a delicious dessert. You'll love it!
With summer on the horizon, people have visions of strawberry margaritas, the beach and light desserts on their minds. Or maybe it’s just me. To get me in that vacation mood, I’ve taken one of our favorite summertime drinks—the strawberry margarita—and turned it into a dessert. A 2-for-1 of sorts!
It’s a boozy strawberry shortcake that the adults will love. To make it kiddie friendly, simply leave out the tequila. If you start your strawberries macerating in the morning, it will take you less than 5 minutes to assemble the desserts later on. (By the way, macerating is just a fancy word for letting the flavors infuse themselves together, or mingle as I like to call it.) You could even get the strawberries mingling the night before. Picking up a package of pre-made dessert shells (strategically placed next to the strawberries in most markets) and whipped topping will save you even more time. Easy, effortless entertaining. We can all use more of that!
