The first cookie I ever learned to make on my own was a snickerdoodle. That classic, cinnamon-sugar-coated cookie was my go-to recipe whenever my mother allowed me in the kitchen to play. I was forever tickled at how thrilled a plate of cookies could make my sisters, cousins and neighbor friends.
So imagine my delight one day when I pulled out a few familiar ingredients from the pantry, along with a Betty Crocker® cookie mix and a can of cream cheese frosting. In minutes, I had cookie sheets full of classic snickerdoodles coming out of the oven. Then I took those cookies and turned them into something even more special than the original. With a dollop of frosting, they suddenly became soft, creamy sandwich cookies that were full of flavor and were totally crave-worthy.
Whether you’re baking up a batch of these divine little cookies for you and the kids or are toting a plate over to the neighbors, I think you’re going to be positively pleased with the results. The perfect texture and flavor of snickerdoodles is still intact but with the added enjoyment of sweet frosting. Sorta makes you feel like a kid again, doesn’t it?
