Looking for a clever way to flavor cupcakes? Use a secret ingredient like Frosted Toast Crunch™ cereal!

I love cereal. In college, I think it made up most of my meals. Cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner made me happy. It was definitely better than ramen noodles! Now, how about some cereal in your favorite dessert? Using a new cereal from General Mills, Frosted Toast Crunch™, I made cupcakes that are sweet, flavorful and really easy to make.

First, gather your ingredients. A box of cereal and a box of cake mix are the most important.

Next, you want to crush the cereal. I used a food processor, but you can certainly use a rolling pin and some muscles!

In large bowl, beat the cake mix, water, oil, eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.

Fold in crushed cereal. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.

Frosted Toast Crunch Cupcakes

Bake 18 to 22 minutes. Once baked and cooled, it is time to frost. The frosting is a simple mixture of butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Pipe or spread onto the cupcakes and top with more cereal.
