A weekend brunch treat in our house, these decadent pancakes, with hot chocolate melting out of the center, are insanely irresistible.
I’m a sucker for a great pancake and these are so good I’ve actually dreamed about them. They are sinfully rich so I save them for weekend or special occasion consumption only, but as you’ll find out, they’re an absolutely worthwhile treat.
I start with Original Bisquick® mix and follow the recipe for “Supreme” pancakes that’s on the back of the box. It’s my all-time favorite recipe for pancakes! Then I add my little secret…Italian chocolate- hazelnut spread. Once I pour the pancake batter in the pan I add a teaspoon-sized dollop of spread and then top that off with little more pancake batter on top to cover it.
I flip them when bubbles start to form on the surface and the chocolate surprise is hidden inside. The moment of delight happens when I cut into the light fluffy pancake and hot molten chocolate comes oozing out onto my plate, mixing in with the butter and maple syrup I usually serve on top. Delicious!
