I absolutely adore strawberry shortcakes. It’s one of summer’s simple pleasures. When strawberries are at their peak, this dessert is always on the menu. But sometimes I can’t leave well enough alone and like to shake things up. This is one of those moments.
I’ve taken traditional strawberry shortcake over to the dark side. The dark chocolate side, that is. I’ve transformed simple shortcakes into Chocolate-Caramel-Strawberry Shortcakes that are packed full of sweet strawberries drizzled with caramel sauce and then topped with a pillow of whipped cream. Decadent and delicious.
