Ingredients

  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups mixed fresh berries (raspberries, blueberries, sliced strawberries)
  • 3/4 cup maple-flavored syrup

Steps

  • 1
Heat waffle maker. (Waffle makers without a nonstick coating may need to be brushed with vegetable oil or sprayed with cooking spray.) In medium bowl, stir all ingredients except berries and syrup with wire whisk or fork until blended.
  • 2
For each waffle, pour batter onto center of hot waffle maker. (Check manufacturer’s directions for recommended amount of batter.) Close lid of waffle maker. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle.
  • 3
Serve waffles with berries and syrup.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Get a head start by making a batch of waffles for the freezer. Wrap cooled waffles in foil or in a resealable freezer plastic bag, and freeze up to 1 month. To serve, place frozen waffles on cookie sheet and reheat in 350°F oven 10 minutes, or pop them in a toaster.
  • tip 2
For a breakfast they'll remember, arrange the berries on your child's waffle to form a face.
