White Chip-Caramel Bars

White chocolate and rich brown-sugary caramel raise the bar on easy and delicious bar cookies.

2 1/4cups packed brown sugar
3/4cup butter or margarine, melted
1tablespoon vanilla
2eggs
2cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1 1/2teaspoons baking powder
1cup chopped walnuts
1cup white vanilla baking chips
1/2cup white vanilla baking chips, melted
1.Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
2.In large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour and baking powder until well blended. Stir in walnuts and 1 cup baking chips. Spread in pan.
3.Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and center is set. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Drizzle with melted chips. Let stand until set. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.

Substitution
You can use semisweet chocolate chips for the white vanilla baking chips.
Special Touch
Cut bars into bite-size pieces for a cookie tray that encourages lots of nibbling.
