Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 cup dried sour cherries
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

Steps

    Mix brown sugar, cornstarch and mustard in 2 1/2-quart saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened.

    Serve sauce with turkey, chicken or pork, or use to glaze a 10- to 12-pound ham.

    Make Tangy Cherry Sauce ahead of time and reheat in the microwave at serving time. Place in microwavable bowl and microwave loosely covered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until heated through.
