cup butter or margarine, melted
teaspoon beef base or beef bouillon granules
tablespoons chopped fresh chives
cloves garlic, finely chopped
tablespoons dry sherry
pounds fresh whole mushrooms
Mix butter and beef base in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients; stir gently to coat mushrooms.
Cover and cook on high heat setting about 2 hours or until hot. Gently stir.
Serve with slotted spoon. Appetizers will hold on high heat setting up to 2 hours.
These buttery mushrooms are the perfect accompaniment for beef. Serve them with an herbed roast or with grilled steaks. Or use them to dress up grilled hamburger patties.
If you prefer not to use sherry, substitute 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or apple juice or cider instead.
