Sangria Slushies

A perfect way to cool off and wind down after a busy summer afternoon, our Sangria Slushies are made ahead with red wine, lemons and oranges.

large oranges

cups sugar
bottle dry red wine
3 1/4
cups water
Fresh fruit for garnish (such as strawberries, grapes, orange or apple slices), if desired

  • 1 Squeeze lemons and oranges over strainer into shallow baking dish. Stir in sugar until dissolved.
  • 2 Add wine and water; stir to combine. Place dish uncovered in freezer. Freeze 8 hours or overnight.
  • 3 Using fork tines, scrape surface of frozen mixture to create “slush.” Scoop “slush” into serving glasses. Garnish with fresh fruit, if desired.

Expert Tips

Tempranillo, Malbec and Rioja are great red wines to use for this recipe.

Keep extra slush covered in the freezer for up to 3 days.
