Ingredients

  • Long and short pipe cleaners (chenille stems)
  • Ring-shaped hard candies
  • Cheerios™ cereal
  • Glue
  • Small googly eyes

Steps

  • 1
Create any of the following shapes out of pipe cleaners and ring-shaped candies. Thread the cereal onto the pipe cleaners. Glue the googly eyes onto the heads.
  • 2
MONKEY: 1. Thread about 1 inch of a long pipe cleaner through 1 ring-shaped hard candy. Bend and twist the pipe cleaner to secure it to the candy. The candy will form the monkey's head, and the pipe cleaner will form the body and tail. 2. Twist a second long pipe cleaner tightly around the body to form the monkey's long arms. 3. Twist 1 short pipe cleaner tightly around the lower body to form the monkey's short legs. 4. Slide the cereal onto the pipe cleaners. Bend the pipe cleaners to pose the monkey. Glue the eyes onto the head.

SPIDER: 1. Thread 1 short pipe cleaner halfway through 1 ring-shaped hard candy. Bend and twist the pipe cleaner to secure it to the candy and form 2 legs. The candy will form the spider's head and body. Repeat 3 more times until you have a total of 8 legs. 2. Slide the cereal onto the legs. Bend each of the legs. Glue the eyes onto the head.

PERSON: 1. Thread about 1 inch of a short pipe cleaner through 1 ring-shaped hard candy. Bend and twist the pipe cleaner to secure it to the candy. The candy will form the person's head. Thread the pipe cleaner halfway through a second candy and twist to secure the candy. The candy will form the person's hips and the twisted pipe cleaner will form the body. 2. Twist another short pipe cleaner tightly around the body near the head to form the arms. 3. Thread a long pipe cleaner halfway through the hips. Twist once to secure the pipe cleaner to the hips to form legs. 4. Thread the cereal onto the pipe cleaners. Bend the pipe cleaners to pose the person. Glue the eyes onto the head.
