Expert Tips

To add a little zip to these mini burgers, use Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeño peppers instead of American cheese.

For a kid's birthday party, spoon the meat mixture on small round bun halves. Let kids decorate their own open-face sandwiches with ketchup and mustard in squeeze containers. Set out bowls of shredded cheese, sliced pickles, cherry tomato halves and sliced olives so they can make silly faces.
