Mama's Marinated Brisket

This is the most delicious brisket I have ever eaten. Mama's is better than a restaurants.

Ingredients

1: beef brisket

1/2: bottle Colgins liquid smoke to 1 bottle

: garlic powder (or garlic salt)

: black pepper

1: cup ketchup

1/2: teaspoon mustard to 1 tsp. mustard

1/2: teaspoon garlic salt to season

1: teaspoon worchester sauce

1: tablespoon brown sugar

1: teaspoon lemon juice or 1/2 tsp vinegar

Directions

1 Pour liquid smoke over brisket and sprinkle with garlic powder and pepper
2 Cover and marinate all day or all night, turning several times to turn liquid on all sides
3 Put brisket and juices (1 inch. water to cover bottom) in roaster and cover. Cook at 275 degrees for 6 to 8 hours. Length of time depends on size (8-10 lbs)
4 Will be tender when pierced with fork
5 Let cook before slicing with electric knife. Cut across grain.
6 Put in pyrex and reheat with sauce over it. Cover with foil and heat 10-15 min. Serve
7 Barbeque sauce instructions:
8 Mix together: 2 cups liquid from meat (drain grease) 1 cup ketchup 1/2 to 1 tsp of mustard garlic salt to season (1/2 tsp) 1 tsp Worchester sauce 1 tbsp brown sugar, and 1 tsp. lemon juice or 1/2 tsp vinegar
9 Add more or less of ingredients to suit your own tastes. Can use a dash of liquid smoke. Simmer 20 minutes.
