Lemon-Butter Pound Cake Bars

Whip up a pan of delicious lemon bars in a saucepan. No mixer is needed.

cup butter or margarine

cups granulated sugar

cups Gold Medal® self-rising flour

tablespoons grated lemon peel
1/3
cup lemon juice
Glaze

cup powdered sugar

tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. In 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining bar ingredients in order listed, mixing well after each addition. Spread batter in pan.
  • 2 Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool in pan on cooling rack 10 minutes.
  • 3 While bars are cooling, in small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over warm bars. Cool completely, about 1 hour. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows.

Wonderful Recipe!!!! I just made a batch for company and it was a hit! Thank you for a wonderful recipe. I lined my pan with wax paper and it made it so easy to clean up. So yummy! Will make these again for sure!!!!!!!

Made these for Father's Day grill out. They were a huge hit! They were gone in a matter of a minutes and even my son, who is a very picky eater, liked them. Simple to make and full of lemon flavor.
