Expert Tips

If you like, cover and refrigerate spiced wine up to one week. Just reheat until hot (do not boil) before serving.

Citrus fruits and spices such as cinnamon, cloves and allspice are the secret to making delicious spiced wine. You can also use granulated sugar in this recipe, but brown sugar adds a delightful touch of caramel sweetness.

We love this wine! My husband makes it when we have company on cool nights. His recipe is a little different but mostly the same wine. He adds whole cinnamon sticks, lemons, lemon peel and nutmeg. He also uses 2 bottles of red wine and one bottle of white, pour into crock pot add all ingredients and keep warm to hot but never boils to keep the alcohol. OH SO YUMMY! Anytime there are left overs (not often) we just refrigerate then reheat in coffee mugs the next few nights. One of my favorites!
