Sweet honey and spicy cardamom come together in a hard-to-resist coating for mixed nuts.
tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
teaspoon ground cardamom
teaspoon ground cinnamon
teaspoon ground cloves
teaspoon ground ginger
containers (10 ounces each) deluxe salted mixed nuts without peanuts
Heat oven to 275°. Spray jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch, with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients except nuts in large bowl. Add nuts; stir to coat.
Spread nuts in pan. Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool in pan, stirring occasionally.
You can use a combination of whatever salted nuts you have. Almonds and cashews are especially elegant and are very nice together.
These spiced nuts are great to serve at a party at home or away, or to give as a special gift. Package them in a pretty jar or in their own serving dish, then add a bow
and a copy of the recipe to present to the recipient.
Cardamom is known for its spicy sweet flavor and pungent aroma. It's used extensively in Scandinavian and East Indian cooking.
