EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Make these hearty subs either ahead of time or at your picnic site. If you plan to take the ingredients, start the grill when you begin assembling the sandwiches.

Go beyond regular barbecue sauces and experiment with hot and spicy, honey-mustard or hickory-smoked barbecue sauce for a different sub every time!

This was just your average ordinary sandwich. The sandwich did not have to be heated for 15 min as the cheese had melted and ran all over the aluminum. I would say 5 min. in the oven is just about right.

Made this as my lunch at the cottage, added a little bit of miracle whip to it. Everyone including the kids loved it, was quick and easy to make especially when you have 12 people to cook for!
