  • 1 Heat oven to 350º F. Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans, 8x4 inches, with shortening. In large bowl, mix pears, sugar, oil, gingerroot and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients until well blended. Pour into pans.
  • 2 Bake 60 to 65 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour, before slicing.
