Ingredients

cup pecan halves

cup hazelnuts (filberts)

cups old-fashioned oats

cup flaked coconut

cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas)

cup wheat germ
3/4
cup wheat bran

cup chia seed

jars (8 oz each)

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. In ungreased shallow baking pan, spread pecans and hazelnuts. Bake 5 to 7 minutes or until fragrant. Cool. Coarsely chop.
  • 2 Spread oats and coconut in another ungreased shallow baking pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring 2 to 3 times to prevent burning.
  • 3 In ungreased pie pan, spread pumpkin seeds. Bake 5 minutes.
  • 4 In large bowl, mix nuts, oats, coconut, pumpkin seeds and remaining ingredients except jars.
  • 5 Into each jar, measure about 1 cup muesli.

Expert Tips

Place labels on jars with these directions: Mix muesli with 1/2 cup yogurt and 1/2 cup fruit (frozen or fresh). Drizzle with honey or agave.
