tablespoons blackberry-mint puree

tablespoons bourbon (1 oz)

tablespoon sugar

cup ice cubes

fresh mint sprig

  • 1 In blender, place blackberry-mint puree, bourbon, sugar and ice. Cover; blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into highball or lowball glass. Garnish with mint.

Expert Tips

To make about 1 1/4 cups blackberry-mint puree, place 1 pint fresh or frozen (thawed) blackberries and 1/2 cup packed fresh mint leaves in a blender. Cover; blend on high speed until pureed. Strain to remove seeds. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.

Honey or agave nectar can be substituted for sugar.
