medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 cup)

medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 Cook bacon in 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings.
  • 2 Mix cooked bacon, 2 tablespoons drippings and remaining ingredients in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker.
  • 3 Cover and cook on high heat setting 1 hour.
  • 4 Turn to low heat setting; cook 5 to 7 hours to blend and develop flavors.
