1
box (4.6 oz) Old El Paso® taco shells (12 shells)
1/2
cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1
package (1 oz) Old El Paso® taco seasoning mix (any variety)
6
cups coleslaw mix (from 16-oz bag)
Old El Paso® taco sauce, if desired
  • 1 Bake fish fillets as directed on package. Cut each fillet into bite-size pieces.
  • 2 Heat taco shells in oven as directed on box.
  • 3 In medium bowl, mix mayonnaise and seasoning mix; stir in coleslaw mix. Let stand 5 minutes. Fill shells with fish pieces and coleslaw mixture; top with taco sauce.

Expert Tips

While the taco shells are baking, heat some Old El Paso® refried beans to serve with the finished tacos.

Skip the coleslaw mix and mayo. Purchase 2 pints of creamy coleslaw at the supermarket deli and stir in the taco seasoning mix.

This recipe was almost too easy. There was little flavor and it tasted like a fish fillet in a taco shell! It needs more flavors and textures. I agree with adding salsa, lime and maybe double the sauce you made for the coleslaw and drizzling it on top.

These are delicious made with spicy-taco-chip encrusted tilapia fillets that you can find in the frozen foods section. I bake them as directed on package and cut them in half length-wise, then insert them into the shells. For variety, Old El Paso salsa mixed with the mayonnaise makes a great sauce (instead of the dry Taco mix). Also, the squeezed juice from fresh lime slivers is a nice addition along with additional Old El Paso Taco sauce or salsa.
