Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Europeans call corn maize, after mahiz, the Native American Indian Word for corn. Native Americans introduced corn to New World settlers, who in turn brought it back to Europe. From the stalk to the silk to the empty cobs, every part of this versatile plant can be used. Corn products include cornstarch, corn oil, cornmeal, corn syrup and whiskey.
  • tip 2
Serve this easy corn recipe with pork, chicken, or fish. It's a nice side dish for a saucy main course.
