I selected this recipe for my wife to make for my birthday. My birthday is December 26th and usually everyone is bummed out with the holidays by then. Even though everyone tries hard to make it a great day I have tried to understand the mood for 57 years. Nothing different this year. I even had to take care of wind damage on the tile roof of our house. We went out to dinner at a great restaurant and they were out of the home made bread and most of all - the baby back ribs I chose the dinner party for. I even was served about 20 minutes after everyone else!. So we go home to open presents and cut the cake. My mood was now low. THIS CAKE SAVED THE DAY! It is FANTASTIC! I really like cake and this has to be in the top 2 of my lifetime. You take a bite and all of a sudden you are taken away by all the wonderful flavors. I really forgot the rest of the day and was so excited to have this treasure right in front of me. To tell you the truth, I really did not want to share it with anyone else. But I was nice and gave out small pieces. The name of this cake is for real. It is a CHOCOLATE LOVER'S DREAM CAKE. Absolutely a STRONG 5 spoon rating.

Made this cake yesterday for my hubby's birthday and it turned out great, just like the picture. Cake was very moist and all 8 of us loved it and gave it a thumb's up. This recipe is a keeper and I will use it often.
