Chili con Queso Casserole

Ingredients

cans (4.5 oz each) Old El Paso® chopped green chiles, drained
2
large tomatoes, seeded, chopped (2 cups)
2
cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
1
cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/2
cup sour cream
3
eggs
Salsa, if desired

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 2-quart casserole or 8-inch square pan with cooking spray. Sprinkle chiles and tomatoes evenly in casserole.
  • 2 In medium bowl, beat remaining ingredients except salsa with wire whisk until blended. Pour over chiles and tomatoes.
  • 3 Bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with salsa.

I dont understand why people left recipe reviews who did not try the recipe. If you do not like the ingredients or the nutrition numbers, no comment is needed.Simply close the window and read the next recipe till you find one you agree with.Anything is acceptable in moderation and I most certainly will listen to advice from my physicians nutritionist before a Bisquick review panel.Sorry.I see comments like that on 3/4 of the recipes I read up on and simply dont understand why they feel the need to comment on something they did not try and obviously dont like.

To make this a "Heart Smart" Recipe--Use Heart Healthy Bisquick, 1 egg Beater and 1 egg, Use low fat (2%) Cheese, and low or not fat Sour Cream. Should not change the flavor or the texture. I have not tried this recipe, but I have used the above substitutes other in other Bisquick dinner dishes, with no change in taste or texture. Hope this helps.
