medium onions, cut lengthwise in half, then cut crosswise into very thin slices

medium stalks celery, sliced (1 cup)

cloves garlic, finely chopped

tablespoons paprika

teaspoon pepper

cups cut-up cooked chicken
1/2
cup ready-to-serve chicken broth
1
cup reduced-fat sour cream
Hot cooked wide egg noodles, if desired
Chopped fresh parsley, if desired
  • 1 Spray 10-inch nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Cook onions, celery and garlic in skillet about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until onions are tender. Stir in paprika and pepper. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • 2 Stir in chicken and broth. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to medium. Stir sour cream into liquid in skillet. Heat over medium heat just until heated through. Serve over noodles. Sprinkle with parsley.

Celery? Nope, I think I'll stick with the old Betty Crocker recipe (in the International Cookbook) that uses green peppers. However, they're right about one thing, the Hungarian paprika is the BEST to use with this recipe, it definitely makes a big difference.

I agree with the sentiments below. Kept wondering where the ingrediants of the picture were. I added red peppers, green peppers and cayenne pepper.

I agree with "jimmysag". The ingredient list does not match the photo at all. I looked at the photo and thought, now that looks delicious. I read the ingredient list and thought, there are a lot of ingredients missing. As written, this is a boring recipe. Add red and yellow bell pepper, zucchini,summer or sometimes called yellow crookneck squash. Use a fresh good quality paprika,preferably of the hot variety like Hungarian. Serve over the wide egg noodles and top with a good shaved or grated Parmesan cheese. Add some warm hearty crusty bread along side and enjoy!
