cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1/2
cup chive-and-onion cream cheese spread

pimiento-stuffed green olives, halved

cocktail-sized smoked link sausages or hot dogs (from two 14-oz packages)

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Separate each can of crescent dough into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow triangles.
  • 2 Place 1/2 teaspoon cream cheese on shortest side of each triangle; top with olive half and 1 sausage. Roll up, starting at shortest side of each triangle and rolling to opposite point; place point side down on 2 ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 3 Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown, switching position of cookie sheets halfway through baking. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

I used Bisquick instead of Pillsbury ( just don't have one right away). And I only simplified it till the basic 'cuz I was not sure how it would be. It is actually good with the dough of Bisquick. Here is some real pictures of what I have done. :) http://www.chaisfood.com/2012/12/cocktail-hot-dog.html I am happy I found this recipe.

The classic "pig in a blanket" is a great little snack for adults and kids alike., But the cream cheese and olive addition here was not well-received.
