If you’re cake poppers keep falling from the stick before being fully dipped into the candy coating, you may have added too much frosting to your mixture. Try adding 2 to 3 tablespoons flour to the cake mixture to create a more firm texture.
Be careful not to over melt the candy coating! If you overcook the candy in the microwave, it will become grainy and will dry with nasty little splotches. To avoid this, melt the candy coating for 30 seconds, then remove it and stir before melting again.
Store uneaten cake poppers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
