Bread Machine Hot Buttered Rum Loaf

Bread Machine Hot Buttered Rum Loaf

It’s a recipe like this that makes you doubly glad you have a bread machine. Warm spices, rum flavors and sweet brown sugar. Mmm!

  • 2 Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color. Do not use delay cycle.

Expert Tips

Cardamom is a member of the ginger family. Its tiny seeds are encapsulated in small pods about the size of a cranberry; each pod contains about twenty seeds. Ground cardamom is used most often in baking.

Look for rum extract near vanilla and other flavorings in the baking aisle of your supermarket.

We recommend using butter instead of margarine for the best buttered rum flavor.

This bread is sooo good it melts in your mouth. This is the closest recipe I've tasted that reminds me of a cardamom bread my mom made for Christmas day when I was younger. It really brings me back. This is a great recipe. I might even try it without the bread maker and braid it like our family recipe.
