1
cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 ounces)
1/2
cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1 Heat waffle iron; grease with cooking spray, vegetable oil or shortening.

  • 3 Bake until steaming stops and waffle is golden brown. Carefully remove waffle.

Expert Tips

It takes about 8 slices of bacon to make 1/2 cup of crumbled crisply cooked bacon.

Serve these hearty waffles for supper or brunch with cheese sauce or maple-flavored syrup and fresh fruit.

To prevent waffles from sticking, prepare waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions. After each use, remove all traces of baked-on batter or crumbs.

I used cheddar instead of swiss because thats what I had, and I couldn't really tell there was cheese mixed in. Swiss has a more distinct flavor so next time I'll stick to the recipe, they were good.
